Patrick J Nolan DDS MS
Dr. Patrick J. Nolan is a native of New Orleans and has been practicing orthodontics since 1990. He received his undergraduate and dental degrees from Louisiana State University, graduating at the top of his class. He then moved to Ann Arbor and completed the orthodontic residency program at the University of Michigan. In addition to seeing patients in Ann Arbor, Dr. Nolan maintains a solo orthodontic practice in nearby Canton. |

He is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Michigan, teaching in the Graduate Orthodontic Program. His primary teaching responsibility is in the orthodontic technique course taken by the first year orthodontic residents. His research interests include the orthodontic and orthopedic treatment of young children and also imaging of the temporomandibular joint. He co-teaches an annual continuing education course through the university and has lectured at the annual meeting of the American
Association of Orthodontists.
Dr Nolan is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the Michigan Dental
Association, Michigan Association of Orthodontists, and the Washtenaw District Dental Society. He is a Fellow of the World Federation of Orthodontists and is past-president of the University of Michigan Orthodontic Alumni Association.
Dr. Nolan lives in Plymouth with his wife Lisa. They have five children: Peter, Thomas, Molly, David and Joey. He enjoys participating in family-oriented activities, especially boating on Portage Lake, attending Camp Michigania during the summer, and skiing in Northern Michigan during the winter. Every fall he returns to his childhood home in New Orleans to fish the gulf coast with his five siblings and cook some of his favorite Cajun foods.
